Avery Keatley is a writer and award-winning radio producer based in Washington, DC. Her work has appeared on NPR, WESA, and in USA Today. She is a former producer for NPR’s Morning Edition, Up First, and The Great Creators with Guy Raz. Currently, she’s making noise at The New Yorker Radio Hour.
Avery’s work investigates the things we missed or took for granted; her curiosity often leads her to abandoned places. She loves a big question, and making complex topics understandable to anyone. She is interested in writing and reporting about: religion and culture; social media, film, TV, and streaming; food systems, and pre/history. She holds a BA in English and history, and an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh.
