Avery Keatley is a writer and radio producer living and working in Washington, D.C. She holds a BA in English and history, and an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Pittsburgh. Her work has appeared on NPR, WESA, and in USA Today. She relaunched and produced the [in brackets] podcast, and is a former nonfiction editor of Hot Metal Bridge.
Avery’s work investigates the things we missed or took for granted. Her curiosity often leads her to abandoned places. She loves a big question, and making complex topics understandable to anyone. She is interested in writing and reporting about social media, movies, TV and streaming, Millennial culture, and religion. She’s currently making noise at NPR’s Morning Edition and Up First.
